Owls are royalty of the skies. My second most painted subject after sea turtles. I also feel a kinship with these graceful raptors. There are a couple Great Horned Owls that live across from my house and I can hear them “hoot” at night…if I’m lucky.

I own chickens and find roosters to be inspiring as well. Birds of many kinds find their way onto my easel.
